Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Warhawk mowers, warranty, financing, and more.
General — Company
It's a riding mower controlled by two levers instead of a steering wheel, with each rear wheel driven independently. That setup lets the machine pivot on a zero-radius turn, so it cuts tight around trees, beds, and obstacles without leaving uncut grass. The result is a faster, cleaner cut than a traditional lawn tractor.
There's a short learning curve since you're steering with two levers rather than a wheel, and you're controlling two drive motors at once. Most people are comfortable within their first mow or two. Your Warhawk dealer can walk you through it and let you test drive before you decide.
Warhawk is a family-owned American company. Every mower is designed and built right here in Paris, Texas.
It comes down to how much you mow and how often. The right deck size depends on the size of your property, how frequently you cut, and how much time you want to spend doing it. Smaller decks maneuver better around obstacles and through gates; wider decks cover open ground faster. Our model guide and your local dealer can match you to the right unit.
Yes. Warhawk machines are engineered for sloped and uneven terrain. We designed a wider wheelbase to lower the center of gravity and fitted wider tires for more grip on inclines. For safe operation do not mow slopes steeper than 15 degrees. Always keep the ROPS (rollover protection) up when mowing uneven terrain. Accidents happen when you least expect it.
Warhawk offers an industry-leading warranty, up to 6 Years or 1,600 Hours on the Ranger, Ranger Pro, Scout, Commander, and Commander Pro series, and 6 Years or 600 Hours on the Sentry. All models include a Limited Lifetime warranty on the deck and frame. We build every mower to outlast the warranty, but if you ever need us, we've got your six. Visit our Warranty page for full details.
Warhawk sells through a network of authorized dealers who handle sales, setup, parts, and service. Buying through a dealer means you get a real service department behind the machine. Use our dealer locator to find the one nearest you.
Yes. Warhawk works with multiple lenders, like Sheffield Financial and Dealer Direct, to offer flexible financing options including promotional rates. Visit our Offers page or ask your dealer about current financing programs.
Through your authorized Warhawk dealer. A local dealer with a service center gives you access to parts, expert technicians, and support you simply will not get from a big-box purchase.
Routine upkeep keeps it cutting clean and lasting longer: regular oil changes, air filter replacement, checking tire pressure, inspecting belts, greasing moving parts, and keeping the blades sharp. It is also worth clearing debris buildup off the machine since accumulation can become a fire hazard. Intervals are in your operator manual, and we always suggest the dealer handle the service, they're trained for it.
Product — Sentry
The Sentry is built for homeowners who want a faster, cleaner cut than a lawn tractor on a typical residential lot. It is available in 44, 54, and 60 inch deck sizes to match your property size. If you are regularly cutting more than 2 acres or fighting thick growth, the Ranger steps up the power.
Yes. It is our most homeowner-friendly machine, and the lever controls become second nature quickly, especially with our Glide-Pro steering system, which reduces fatigue and makes every mow more enjoyable. A dealer demo is the best way to get comfortable before your first cut.
Treated as a residential machine, a well-maintained Sentry will last many seasons. Keeping up with basic maintenance is what protects its life, oil changes, blade sharpening, and keeping it clean go a long way.
The Sentry comes in 44, 54, and 60 inch deck sizes. The 44 inch deck is the most gate-friendly option. Exact dimensions are listed on the specifications tab so you can measure before you buy.
Light. Residential use typically runs roughly 30 to 50 hours a season, so you are looking at periodic oil changes, blade sharpening, and keeping it clean, not a heavy maintenance schedule. And when it is time for service, we made it simple on purpose. We held ourselves to a high standard when engineering the Sentry: every routine maintenance point had to be easy to reach and easy to work on, so upkeep is quick whether you do it yourself or bring it to your dealer.
Product — Ranger
More power and more capability. The Ranger is for homeowners with bigger lots, thicker grass, or who simply want to finish faster and with more margin. It is available in 44, 48, 54, and 60 inch deck sizes with Kohler and Kawasaki engine options. You also step up in comfort with a premium padded seat that keeps you fresh through longer mows.
That is what it is built for. More horsepower lets the Ranger power through thick or damp grass and cover larger areas without bogging down. It is well suited for properties from 2 to 4 acres.
Yes, and that matters more than people expect. A smoother ride gives you better control at higher mowing speeds and is easier on your body over a large property.
The Ranger supports compatible accessories including a tow hitch and mulch kits. Check with your dealer for available options.
Product — Ranger Pro
It is built to cross over. The Ranger Pro is a true prosumer machine, it's a professional-grade mower for the serious homeowner who wants the best, or the operator just starting to make money with it, without the full commercial price tag. It features a reinforced frame, commercial grade fabricated deck, and a more capable drivetrain designed for harder use.
The things that earn trust in this class are deck construction and the drivetrain. The Ranger Pro uses a commercial-grade fabricated deck that holds up better than stamped decks over uneven ground or thick turf, backed by our Limited Lifetime warranty on the deck and frame. It runs commercial-grade transmissions built for long-term durability, and a 3-inch suspension seat keeps you comfortable through longer mowing sessions.
No, the warranty doesn't change. The Ranger Pro carries a 6 Year / 1,600 Hour warranty whether you run it at home or on the job. We build every unit to withstand the everyday grind, and we'd be honored if you chose our brand to help you pursue the American Dream.
The core DNA is shared with the Ranger, but the Ranger Pro elevates every part of the experience: a more comfortable seat, commercial-grade Hydro-Gear 3400 transmissions, and a commercial-grade Kawasaki FX730 engine. The commercial grade deck, reinforced frame, and upgraded drivetrain are what let it survive harder, more frequent use, which is exactly what protects your investment if you start earning with it.
Product — Scout
Stand-ons shine in properties with lots of obstacles, tight turns, and narrow spaces thanks to their compact size and better sightlines. The Scout is the stand-on for the commercial operator who wants speed and nimbleness, or the homeowner who wants to get it done fast.
Two big ones: trailer space and fatigue. Stand-ons take up less room so you can fit more machines on a single trailer. And standing is generally easier on your lower back than sitting since your legs absorb the vibration instead of your spine. They are also faster to step on and off of, handy when you are hopping off to clear debris.
It works for both. The same compact size and quick on/off that crews love also make it fast and easy for a homeowner who wants to knock out the yard and store the machine in a tight garage.
A small one. There is an adjustment going from a walk-behind or riding mower, but stand-ons are not difficult to operate and most operators adapt quickly. A dealer demo is the fastest way to get the feel for it.
Product — Commander
Yes, that is its entire purpose. The Commander is designed to run long days and multiple jobs with larger, more durable parts than residential machines. For contractors, these machines commonly log 1,000 or more hours a year.
Productivity is the whole point. The Commander is available in 60 and 72 inch commercial decks powered by a high-powered 36 HP Kohler ECV936 EFI engine, letting you cover large acreage quickly and efficiently.
Downtime is the real cost in this business. That is why we sell through dealers with stocked parts and service departments. The Commander is also designed for easy access to the engine, belts, and filters so routine service is quick.
With disciplined maintenance, a realistic expectation for most commercial zero-turns is 2,000 to 3,000 hours. Staying on top of oil changes and greasing is the difference between a machine that delivers profitable hours and one that fails early.
Product — Commander Pro
The Pro upgrades the Commander for the operator who runs hard and wants the premium build that pays off over a long day. The core machine is the same, the Pro just elevates the pieces that matter most on a long shift. Where the Commander runs a spring suspension seat, the Pro steps up to a true air-ride seat. It is powered by a 38 HP Kohler ECV938 EFI engine, 2 HP more than the Commander's 36 HP Kohler ECV936 EFI, and rides on 26-inch tires versus the Commander's 24-inch for better traction and a smoother ride. It also runs Hydro-Gear 5400 transmissions instead of the Commander's 4400's, adding more speed and more durability. Everything else is exactly the same, the Pro is simply built to the highest spec in the Warhawk lineup.
For a high-hour operator, the comfort is the productivity. A more capable machine means less fatigue and higher output across the day. The Commander Pro features a true air-ride seat with a built-in compressor beneath it that adjusts to the operator's preference in seconds with the flip of a switch, plus Hydro-Gear 5400 transmissions, the best in commercial-grade drivetrains, so you stay mowing season after season. If the machine is making you money, the features that keep you and your crew fresh tend to pay for themselves.
The Commander Pro's 38 HP Kohler ECV938 EFI engine is built for operators who push their equipment hard. More power means more consistent performance in heavy grass, large acreage, and sustained daily commercial use.
It means the Commander Pro is spec'd for the operator who will not compromise. It carries all the commercial-grade durability of the Commander with upgraded power and the backing of Warhawk's industry-leading 6 Year / 1,600 Hour warranty.
